One of my most hated supersets of 2025. Our belt squat machine is great for those with injuries looking to avoid some of that spinal loading and compression you get from using a barbell.

You can focus more on the legs. It allows for more volume. The learning curve is easier than free weights. You have more stability.

But this sucked for 3 sets back to back 🤣

But hey, with challenge comes progress. And we're all about progress.

This is our first post of the year so of course we had to brag a little.

He started with us in our Senior Fitness class(T/Th 11:30-12:15) as a means to stay active. He hasn't been able to find classes that have worked for him lately. We got ya.

It's important to remember that movement and exercise has a multitude of benefits from prolonging sarcopenia, osteoporosis, balance and faĺl issues, mental clarity, and a overall higher quality of life. We could write a book.

Most importantly, it is AMAZING to see someone his age value exercise and have the ability to show up to class, perform the movements, and continue to do it session after session. He is almost a century and we couldn't be more grateful to provide this service to him at 57Fit.

We have numerous spots for the senior fitness class. It's never too late to do something that makes you feel better, move better, and live a longer healthier life.

Pullups are hard enough. Pullups at 6'4 create a whole new element due to being taller and having longer arms.

It's true that many people, especially women, underestimate their upper body strength. Challenging those perceptions and building that strength can be incredibly empowering.

This pull-up and push-up sequence is a way we increase volume and build a solid foundation. It's a great blend of pulling and pushing movements, hitting different muscle groups in the upper body. Plus, you get a good amount of practice.

Sequence:
1 pullup
2 pushup
2 pullup
4 pushup
She followed this until she reached 5 pullups and 10 pushups

Endless light reps aren't for muscle growth, especially when it's too light.

Huge congrats to Meron for her incredible consistency over the past three years! That kind of dedication is truly inspiring and speaks volumes about her commitment

This pull-up and push-up sequence is a way we increase volume and build a solid foundation. It's a great blend of pulling and pushing movements, hitting different muscle groups in the upper body. Plus, you get a good amount of practice.

Sequence:
1 pullup
2 pushup
2 pullup
4 pushup
She followed this until she reached 5 pullups and 10 pushups

Endless light reps aren't for muscle growth, especially when it's too light.

When looking at the 60+ population, it's that much more important to take our health seriously and do the absolute most(in a safe manner).

Strength training has been shown to improve muscle mass, bone density, mental health, balance, stability, reduction of falls, and INDEPENDENCE.
And that's just a few...

So, get up out yo seat and move yo feet if you can. If you can't, there are numerous modifications that we can provide.

Besides the fact that he's shot up in height, he can now do full pushups, jump higher, and he's stronger in just about every lift.

Long gone are the days when they said it will stunt your growth, or youth shouldn't work out. If you instuct and program safely, you're good to go.

To repeat, exercise( we love strength training) should be done by everyone.

When working with young people, we make sure to focus on what they like(peep the smiles) while making things challenging. That's how we see progress.

Remember, it's recommended we get 150-300 minutes of exercise weekly. I say do what you can, when you can, as much as possible.
