When looking at the 60+ population, it's that much more important to take our health seriously and do the absolute most(in a safe manner).

Strength training has been shown to improve muscle mass, bone density, mental health, balance, stability, reduction of falls, and INDEPENDENCE.
And that's just a few...

So, get up out yo seat and move yo feet if you can. If you can't, there are numerous modifications that we can provide.

Strength training can lower your risk of mortality, especially cardiovascular. That's a big one.

Strength training can support your body before, during, and after pregnancy.

While most of these points can be said about people in general, we're highlighting YOU.

1. Strength training can improve your overall quality of life. Majority(if not all) clients who I've worked with have commented on how they've noticed differences in their everyday lives.

2. When looking to make changes once you start training, nutrition is always first, exercise is second, and supplementation(if needed) is third.

3. Strength training is as mentally taxing as it is physical.

4. It takes longer to build muscle than it does to lose weight. Tell them to go play in somebody else's face if they tell you different.

5. On that note, muscle building is a long slow process of progressing weights, variations of exercises, reps/sets, and tapping into that resilient person in you.

6. A healthy blend of cardio and strength training bodes the best results. This has been researched. You should all believe that then, right?

7. People will comment on your appearance when training. You choose how you want to respond.

8. Don't believe everything you see on social media. People have perfected looking perfect.

9. Commit to being healthier. There is always something we can do to improve an aspect of our lives.

10. Go lift some weights. It could be 5 or 10 minutes. It could be 1-3 times a week. It could be whatever you have time for. Make it non-negotaible and add it to your calendar. Once you see how you feel you'll probably want more. 💪🏿

When looking to focus on a specific muscle, it doesn't have to be anything extreme. And yes, sometimes it's enticing to balance on a ball with 2 kettlebells while wearing a weighted vest because you see someone with a "nice body" do it.

Guess what? Simple works. It's effective and safer.

The consistency and gains(mental and physical) have been at a high lately. We couldn't be more happy with the progress and energy our clients bring week in and out.

We don't subscribe to the notion of not enough time in a day. Even 10 minutes is better than none.

Exercise and its many facets have unlimited benefits that allow you to do all those things that you love.

Did you know that even adding one day of strength training weekly has short-term benefits?

The goal is always to challenge yourself, each set, each session. By that, we mean you should only be able to get 1-2 extra reps after you're done with that set.

If you finish a set and could keep going for endless reps, guess what? It's too light.

Meron and Beth have both doubled their numbers on the chest press since starting at 57Fit. Today, we focused on 3 sets of 12-15 reps.

Reminder: Muscle takes longer to build than weight/fat loss.

If they're telling you, you'll put on 10lbs of muscle a month, it's not true.

Take your time. Learn the movement. Try different rep ranges, and watch what happens over time.
